"When Hudson was a colicky newborn he would cry every time I put him down. I wore him in the MoMo sling, even slept with him in it in a chair! It was the only remedy for his screaming."

CARRYING POSITIONS

Baby Sling Cradle HoldCradle Hold Video
You'll find your own variation to this position - this one works well for breastfeeding. Make a pouch in your sling by pulling up the inside rail of the sling closest to your body. Push outside rail of the sling to form a pouch.  Place your baby in the pouch, making sure to support your baby until you have him well secured.  Adjust the sling by pulling on the tail rails. Pull the outside of the tail to adjust the top rail and the inside of the tail to adjust the bottom rail and the part against your body. When the sling is well positioned, the rings should be at your armpit. This is a good position for your baby until he can hold his own head up.
However, some babies like the Snuggle Hold right away.

See below.

Make sure the rings are up high on or just below your shoulder. Load your baby in the sling with his chest to yours holding the pouch open with one hand. Tuck the bottom rail up under your baby's bum and up the the back of their knees, pulling his legs into a froggy position. Alternatively, cross his legs in front of him and entirely into the pouch. Pull the top rail up over the baby's shoulders (if they cannot hold their own head up pull the top rail up over their head). Adjust both top and bottom rails by pulling on the tail as described above. Make sure that your baby’s head is just under your chin, any lower and you can cause undue stress on your back. Support your baby’s weight until baby feels secure.

Make a pouch in the sling as you would for the Snuggle Hold. Ensure the inside of the pouch is high on your chest and snug, with fabric between you and your baby. Hold the pouch open and place your baby in the sling facing forwards, folding baby’s knees up towards baby’s chest. Tighten the outside rail accordingly to keep baby snug against you.

Hip Hold Baby Sling Hip Hold Video
This position can be used as soon as your baby can sit up and is a convenient and easy way to carry your baby. Place your baby on your hip with their legs through the sling straddling you. Baby's bum should be below his knees, so his legs are in the froggy position. Pull the top rail up to desired height on your baby's back, pull on the tail until the rail is snug.

Put the sling on with the rings slightly behind your shoulder. Put your baby in the sling as you would for the Hip Hold position, ensuring his bum is below his knees and his arms are tucked into the sling. Now slide the sling and baby around to your back. As this takes a little practice, first timers should have someone check and make sure that your baby is secure. Never wear an unwilling baby in this position.
